EUGENE, Ore. — The Eugene Police Department and emergency personnel are investigating after a Thursday morning collision between a motorcyclist and street sweeper closed the intersection at Coburg and Willakenzie roads.
The incident happened around 3:30 a.m.
According to authorities at the scene, the operator of the street sweeper made illegal U-turn in the street, went back into an adjacent parking lot, and then struck the motorcyclist.
The street sweeper operator was cited, police said.
The victim was taken to hospital with unknown injuries, and their condition is unknown at this time.
The street was blocked for about 20 minutes.
